MidiKey2Key crashes on setup

I'm running Win10, and have a Behringer FCB1010 connected (a foot pedal that emits MIDI program change messages. (Verified in programs outside of MidiKey2Key).

I launch MidiKey2Key, and select the Behringer as my "midi device". I click 'start', and boom: "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application".

Thoughts?

Maybe this device is already used by another Windows program, like this crash is escribed in the FAQ.
